By White Wolf (Phil Shapley) We live in scary times. Violence, calamities, pollution, political instability, abuse of power, uncertainty, etc. are increasing. Indian, Biblical and Latter Day Saint (LDS) prophecy say that matters will worsen. Before we consider obtaining personal peace, we explore the causes of today's turbulence. You may think that two causes are farfetched. But before you condemn, seek a deeper understanding of matters that is contained in The Basic Truths Behind Christ's Teachings which is on this website. The causes are: 1) With increasing pollution, environmental warming, etc., environmental calamities follow. 2) Nations and people are fighting, groups are disputing with, victimizing, hating or exploiting others. 3) People are increasingly ignoring and violating the commandments of the Creator-- immorality, greed, lying, corruption, pride, etc. With this happening, negative energy is generated which depresses all of Nature. Mother Earth and Nature are ill, often in convulsion. Biological productivity is declining. 4) With Man increasingly ignoring his Creator (Jesus Christ) and His (the Creator's) ways, and not responding to moderate promptings to return to the Good Way, the Creator is turning up the heat. Our Maker is generating calamities to humble Man, to encourage Man to examine what is happening and thus wake up. In the Bible and LDS scriptures, when Man forgot his Creator, became evil, our Maker worked through natural disasters and conflict to awaken him. Usually Man did such and returned to the ways of his Maker. Peace, righteousness, and prosperity followed. Why is it important to the Creator that we live as He asks? Our Maker loves us and wants us to learn happiness. If we live otherwise, there are serious bad long-term consequences for an individual and a nation, Nature is hurt, instability occurs, and we set a poor example. Again, see the reverence paper. Man is stubborn and slow to learn! Our Maker will not force any person to live the Good Way-- forcing does not change a person's inner nature, heart, which is necessary if he is to be happy. Our Maker teaches and hopes that we follow. You choose, consciously or unconsciously, how you live and thus, your destiny. How you live determines your happiness in your Earth life and where you will be in the post-Earth life in the Spirit world. Also, when privileged Man lives in a bad, non-spiritual way, he must pay a penalty for his misdeeds that have much depressed Nature. Justice requires this (see reference paper). These penalties are mostly paid in the post-Earth life. They will be hard to bear and you will be placed in a lower level of the spirit world. Without violating our agency (not imposing good behavior), the Creator does all He can to help you choose the Good Way even though it requires putting you through hardships (as explained before). If you stop living in a bad way and do good, you can be forgiven. In the end, you cannot blame the Creator for a poor life in the after Earth life, you were too proud and stubborn to learn. We now turn to obtaining personal peace of mind, happiness and security in these increasingly troubled times. You can have this despite what is happening in the world. You must turn to our Creator, honour Him, and respect and live His teachings. If you do this, He promises that He will support us: 1) He will protect you from dangers; 2) He will counsel you on what food, clothing, fuel, etc., to store for emergencies; 3) He will forgive your bad actions; 4) You will gain peace of mind, strength and confidence to get through difficult situations; 5) He will inspire you to know how to deal with challenges and give you knowledge; 6) You will feel His love and have no fear; 7) He can guide you to safe areas and to other good people; 8) You are generating positive energy which buoys Nature and can reduce the calamities in your area; 9) He can supply needed resources (see Spiritual Resource Mgt. and Practical Application papers on this website); 10) You can help people learn & accept, & thus, get through tough times, plus positive energy is created that helps nature. This doesn't mean that life will go smoothly. But you will have the confidence, insight and courage to deal with life. You will experience some tribulation to help you understand, learn, gain experience and strength, and become a better person. And even if you die, all is well -- death will be pleasant and you will go to a good part of the spirit world. Jesus said: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14: 27). See that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass (Matthew 24: 6), including the bad times of these latter days. |
