The Problems

Resources are increasingly depleted and ecosystems continue to decline.  And nature is in convulsions-- more severe hurricanes and earthquakes, extremes in temperatures, more drought and excess rain, etc.  Native Elders and Christian scriptures have prophesied of these things.  Both predict that troubles will intensify unless Man returns to his Creator and the Creator's ways.

The Solution

Native Elders and the scriptures state that the major cause of these problems is Man ignoring his Creator and the Creator's commandments, greed, immorality, etc.  Pollution and over-harvesting are also contributing factors.  But unless Man returns to his Creator and His ways, these problems will get much, much worse.

According to prophesy, returning to our Creator will not happen on a broad scale, and thus, the problems will get worse.  So, is there any hope for the individual who wants to do right?  The answer is a resounding YES!!  If an individual, people and/or communities return to their Creator and live His ways, the Creator will help them survive and get thru the increasingly tough times.  Resources and environments can be protected or resources can even be increased where there is faith (see the Resource Management papers).  Faithful people will know that they are being helped and protected.  The presence of the Creator's spirit will give them peace of mind.

Appendix:  Why is the Creator allowing this to happen?

As I understand it, the answer to why all  these catastrophes are happening, has four components:

Component 1:  By disrespecting and ignoring Nature by allowing pollution, over-harvesting, soil depletion, etc., natural consequences occur which can be very severe.

Component 2:  Given all the negative energy created by Man ignoring his Creator and our Maker's laws, immorality, anger, greed, pollution, etc., this is causing Mother Earth and Nature to convulse, they are ill!

Component 3:  This component requires an extensive explanation.  The Creator wants Man to learn about true, deep happiness and for us to make those personal changes necessary so that we can have it thru all eternity.  For this to happen, people need to experience positive and negative energy, such as love versus hate, the consequences of alcoholism, careless sex, etc.  These experiences help people learn in a deep way the difference between good and evil-- learn in a way that changes one's heart, that helps one become a good person, one who can have the best after death life in the Spirit world.  Experiencing consequences does not force a person to change but encourages him to change of his own free will.  A man can choose to remain blind and ignore what could be learned.  Those who are willing to change, begin to feel the peace that comes from our God, and as they proceed, they are helped by their Maker, and experience true, deep happiness.

    But Man is frequently slow to learn-- we resist changing.  So our Maker allows or produces situations  that encourage a person to wake up, to call on his Maker for help, such as when there are storms, drought, illness, death, disappointment, conflict, etc.   In times of difficulty, people are motivated to call on their Maker for help and to receive peace of mind.  They are encouraged to re-examine their lives, change and become good people.  But some choose to rebel and even curse God.

  Why doesn't the Creator grant immediate consequences when a person does good or evil?  If this was done, people would cease evil out of fear or do good for the reward-- their hearts, inner nature, wouldn't change.  With delay, there is time for reflection, development of character, for growth of a good heart.

Component 4:  When Man violates the laws and teachings of the Creator and does not repent, Man must eventually pay a penalty.  When people are fully hardened in evil, God frequently issues a punishment.  Today, many people are in such a state.

    To allow hardened people to continue in their  bad ways, has two consequences:
    - evil becomes entrenched, and thus, it is hard for persons to learn God's ways, the Good Way.
    - if there was no punishment, the Creation might rebel against this evil, perhaps refusing to obey its' Creator-- the Creation could collapse!
